Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept most major credit cards. These include Visa and MasterCard. Please note we accept Switch cards via telephone orders only. We will require cardholder's full details including name, address and telephone number as registered with the bank. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit card has been properly received. Cheque or postal orders are accepted although we cannot despatch the goods until payment has been cleared which can take at least 14 working days. Ownership and title in the goods will only pass to the customer upon receipt of full payment.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling Big AV will only deliver goods to the cardholders name & address. Delivery prices quoted are for UK mainland delivery only excluding the Scottish Highlands. We reserve the right not to deliver certain items to certain areas due to their size/delicate nature. Please contact us prior to ordering for more details as an extra delivery charge may occur. This is calculated on our Website once your postcode has been entered. This mainly applies to all types of televisions or larger items.

It is the customer's responsibility to sign for all packages as shown on the delivery consignment note. Any missing packages must be noted on the same consignment note before the driver leaves. It will be the customer's responsibility to notify Big AV of any shortages within 3 days of delivery.
Big AV will not accept liability for goods lost in transit unless notified within 5 days from the expected delivery date. |
Delivery Schedule At Big AV we carry huge stockholdings of products at our National Distribution Centre to ensure speedy delivery of your ordered items.
In Stock Audio Visual Products (exc 28" CTV's & above): Products are in stock for immediate dispatch. We estimate delivery within 3 working days from cleared payment. Major Domestic Appliances & Large TV (28" & above): Delivery is individually routed and booked and will take between 3-7 working days (depending on your postcode area) from cleared payment.
Delivered Normally Within 7-10 Days These items are on standing order with the manufacturer, we estimate that delivery will generally be 7-10 days. Should there be any change to these timescales, you will be duly contacted and notified.
Pre-Order Now This product is either not currently in the manufacturer's range and is due to be released in the next 30 days, or the product has very recently been released and demand is high. As soon as this item is available your order will be treated as a priority above others and delivered direct to your door. Delivery times of up to 30 days are possible. We will of course contact you should delivery arrangements differ from this.
Specially Ordered For You The product will be ordered direct from the manufacturer upon receipt of your order. We estimate delivery time to be 10-14 working days depending upon availability from the manufacturer. We will of course contact you should delivery arrangements differ from this.
All delivery times are estimates only and some products may take longer due to circumstances beyond our control. Our call centre will contact you with expected delivery days upon receipt of your order. Please note some products may take longer due to shortages from the manufacturers. Nb. Our courier company are not insured to enter your house/premises. Our Couriers will only deliver goods to ground floor. Please note that we are depending on third party couriers for delivery of your goods. Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Credit Card Security Any orders placed at our website will be passed to a third party (Protx) who will process your payment information. The third party will encrypt your credit card details using 128 bit encryption. The third party will not use the data for any other purposes than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. The third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party. BIG AV will not store any customer payment information (card numbers etc.) in anyway. |
Guarantee The manufacturer guarantees all purchases for a period of 12 months, unless stated, from date of invoice.
The guarantee excludes faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse by the customer. In addition, routine maintenance (cleaning of dirty audio/video heads etc), consumables (styli, plug fuses, cables, batteries, etc), cosmetic damage and tuning of channels is not covered. The full cost of service will be charged if no fault is found with your product. You do have the right to have an independent expert assess your goods if you feel this is necessary.
If goods arrive in a damaged or unsatisfactory condition you must make a note on the couriers delivery consignment note. You don't have to open the item to inspect the goods inside. This applies to visual damage that can be seen on the outside only.
The customer is responsible for returning any goods at their own expense. Damaged or faulty goods on arrival are excluded from this. If your product should fail within this period, our customer services department will arrange for repair by the manufacturer's authorised service agents.

If goods arrive in a damaged or unsatisfactory condition you must make a note on the couriers delivery consignment note. You don't have to open the item to inspect the goods inside. This applies to visual damage that can be seen on the outside only.
It will be your responsibility to inform us of any damages within 7 days of receipt of goods, as we need to inform the couriers used. Couriers will not accept claims made after 7 days. If goods returned under this clause are found to be perfect and in full working order they will be returned to you and an administration fee will be charged along with the cost of carriage to your credit card account. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
If you wish to cancel your order prior to despatch, you must email us first at big-av@hotmail.co.uk and wait for a cancellation email. You can cancel your purchase within 7 working days after receipt of the goods provided the product is in a satisfactory condition and all the original contents are enclosed. Returned goods not complying with this will be rejected. Please note that if you cancel an order which has been processed and dispatched, you will be refunded the value of the goods less the return costs. The 7-day period does not start until the day after receipt of the goods by the customer. Monies will only be refunded once we have received the returned goods, this may take up to a maximum of 14 working days.
Big Av will not accept cancellation of any orders where the item(s) purchased are not normally held in stock but have been specifically ordered at the request of the customer. Goods must be returned 'AS SOLD' in the original packaging with all components and accessories. Goods must be complete, unused, and in 'AS NEW' condition (eg if you have opened the box to examine the product it must have been done so without damaging the box and packaging or damaging the product in any way) and must be re-packaged as received.
Goods must be returned to our Returns Department within 14 days from authorisation. We are unable to accept returns of un-wanted and non-faulty items after the 14 days. Television stands must not have been opened from their original packaging. Any 'FREE GIFTS' with the products must also be returned.
We are unable to accept returns of the following items: Opened Pre-recorded videotapes, DVDs, CDs, Minidiscs, games and software, the goods were a special order to the customer's specification, products with contract services that have been connected (i.e mobiles).
We will not be able to accept returns on any mattress that has been removed from its outer packaging, If you are not sure it is the correct product for you you can examine it within the packaging. If you are still unsure we reccomend you visit a local retailer where you will be able to try the product before ordering from us.

Returns cannot be accepted without prior authorisation and a returns authorisation number. The returns authorisation is valid for up to 14 days only. Goods sent back without prior returns authorisation will be returned back to you and the cost of delivery charged to your account.
Full refund of the cost of the goods is wholly conditional upon the above conditions being met and the refund authorised only after a full inspection of the goods by our Returns department to check for completeness and correct product return.
Goods received back complete as NEW and unused and in original box and packaging including all accessories and in a re-sellable condition: You will be refunded the full invoice amount less cost of delivery.
Goods received back complete as NEW and unused and with original box and packaging but with accessories missing: You will be refunded the full Invoice price - less delivery charges and cost of accessories as listed below.
Goods received back not in a re-sellable condition: We are unable to accept these back under the above terms and the goods will be returned back to you and the cost of delivery charged to your account.
